THE PROGRESS MADE IN THE TRANSFORMATION OF CASA FELIZ…
Thanks to the generous support of many, we are able to continue with the preparation of the second-level rooms and bathrooms for the elderly. It is amazing to see how, with each bit of love and humble work, Casa Feliz takes on shape, personality, and spirit!
During the visit of our friends from Ascencion Parish in Kansas, we got a lot done! Our friends funded and helped in the construction of two wooden kitchens for our elderly in different parts of San Lucas, but also got a lot done in Casa Feliz!
We stripped the old bathroom tile from some of the walls and we painted the first adopted rooms dedicated to Mother Mary and Papa Jo (St. Joseph)!
Moving Forward…
Right now we are preparing the way for all the new windows -about half of them have already been ordered and paid for. The walls have been repaired and re-plastered. The bathrooms are ready for new water and drainage pipes and a wheelchair-accessible design. As you can imagine, there has been a lot of planning, long days of labor, and plenty of discernment and prayer!

much more to be done…

In the months ahead, we will continue refurbishing the rooms, hallways, and bathrooms. We also hope to lay the new floors on the second level of our Casita and begin working on the chapel of mercy, dedicated to Francis of Asissi- this will be the Heart of the home! We look forward to having the poor enjoy every bit of this space in the future.
Apart from the improvements on the second level of Casa Feliz, and thanks to the donations we received in the first half of the year, we were able to complete the upgrade of the water filtering system and finish the maintenance-service area where the power generator was installed. It´s all coming together for the good of our elderly in need and for the glory of God!
It has been a busy and challenging season, yet, it is so special for us to live our missionary call serving and preparing the way for Christ in the poor and humble. We are so grateful to the LORD for His providence and allowing us to be here as we dream and build together in our marriage, in this Casita, and in this community. Please continue praying for us as we take risks in love and as we learn from everything that comes our way in this mystical place!
We want to thank our friends and donors who have already adopted rooms and those who have contributed to different parts of the building. There is so much to do and we are doing our best to make the funds stretch as we trust God´s providential care and abundance and believe that what is needed will be provided in due time.
We also want to thank our humble friend and talented master builder, Roberto Carlos Pantzey, and his team of tireless construction warriors for the amazing job they have done and for putting their hearts into everything they do.
